The ISO Format Open Document standards 11, 26 and 36describe a language for standard word processor systems. Toimplement such a system there are a number of challenges toovercome. The challenge of reusing logical constituent parts of adocument and the difficulty of constructing a viable userinterface are addressed in the research work proposed below. Inaddition the research will address the issue of the documentcreation process and the document dissemination process.Potential commercial applications of the research:This researchwork has great commercial potential in word processor systems forEscrow companies, Financial Firms and Government agencies.
