DLA has a desire to expand and increase the number of small manufacturers to address DOD demands and grow the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). More qualified sources of supply are needed to improve DLA product availability, provide competition to reduce cost and lead time, address lifecycle performance issues, and potentially improve upon the current part design. Working collaboratively, AMS a WOSB small business, will lead on this contract. The team will create a TDP, a SAR, and a prototype part which will be based on strict adherence to defense standards and best practices to assure an acceptable deliverable. The end result will be a fully document and standardized design, alongside a fully functioning facsimile that is equal to or better than what is currently being procured. The Technical data package will include all attributes, manufacturing specification, and inspection/quality requirements for the assembly. A complete and comprehensive manufacturing plans will be developed for each component and compiled in a Source Approval Request.
