The Defense Logistics Agency seeks improved product availability through increased competition for certain Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) Critical Safety/Critical Application Items (CSI/CAI).These items have National Stock Numbers (NSN) with an annual demand of > $10,000 and fewer than two manufacturers.NanoSonic is a small advanced company that specializes in innovate additive manufacturing methods to produce high performance parts for defense prime customers within our LEED certified facility.Our recent focus has been on delivering affordable, reliable, and innovative Thermal Array based discrete parts to the DLA.NanoSonic has a Government CAGE code, DIBBS account, is Joint Certification Program (JCP) certified, and has access to DLA collaboration folders (cFolders).During this program, NanoSonic shall submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) as a competitive vendor to produce ALRE CSI/CAI such as NSN: 1710-00-716-2994, ram packing adapter. We shall develop a technical drawing and complete all requirements for the SAR checklist for review by theCompetition Advocate Office (initial administrative review) and possible approval from the Contracting Officer and cognizant Product Specialist.NanoSonic is a certified vendor to defense primes through the ExoStar system and will work directly with the DLA to reduce overall costs throughout the supply chain.

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) seeks improved product availability through increased competition for certain National Stock Numbers (NSN) with an annual demand of > $10,000 and fewer than two manufacturers. During Phase I, NanoSonic identified two parts whereby warfighters and the DLA would benefit from having an additional source from both economic and technical business cases. During Phase II of this program, NanoSonic shall complete the approval process to become an alternate source for: 1) parts 52-3583-2/3 NSN 1710-00-716-2994 (right), and 2) part RF835-3 NSN 5330-01-645-1488UB. The first item, identified in topic DLA172-001 is an Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) Critical Application Item (CAI), ram packing for the 82N catapult arresting gear adapter. The second item is a Lockheed Martin Aeronautics identified Critical Safety Item (CSI), elastomeric inflatable conductive canopy seal to support warfighter safety within the cabin of the high-altitude Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Operations U-2 Dragon Lady. During Phase II of this program, NanoSonic shall carry develop and deliver Source Approval Requests (SAR) to the DLA for NSNs 1710-00-716-2994 and 5330-01-645-1488 UB. We have teamed with Brighton Cromwell, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, Techsburg, and Cardinal Rubber & Seal to achieve all technical objectives herein.
