Augmntr had a highly successful Phase I effort on MEDIC, demonstrating a full proof-of-concept system. In Phase II, Augmntr will build upon that, working toward a system capable of being used by medics and utilizing the more appropriate hardware available. The key work includes building upon the Avatar, Body Tracking and User Interface work performed in Phase I, while tracking emerging headset hardware and complementing it with embedded compute capability. The project will also focus on the end user needs and will utilize touch points with the intended users (field medics and others) to capture early feedback, thereby helping ensure that the project will be well received at completion. Building upon our Phase I accomplishments, this proposed Phase II effort will continue the drive towards a prototype MEDIC augmented reality system suitable to being evaluated by medics in the field.
