This SBIR Direct to Phase II project scales-up Atom Microscope by Projection (AMP) data production 170x to enable routine, commercially viable, atomic-scale structural biology: position, chemistry, every molecule, in 3D. DNA was first imaged at atomic-scale using early AMP technology (field-ion microscope) in 1971 (1). Despite this capability demonstration, in the ~50 years to date fewer than 10 biomolecule articles have been published using the approach. The obstacle is prohibitively slow and error-prone time-to-data, 6 months or more, necessitating an experimental program of years in an effort to achieve scientific repeatability and rigor.
