In this STTR program, Mantel Technologies, in collaboration with the Human Performance Laboratory at the United States Air Force Academy, proposes to develop a canine respiratory mask system to meet the operational needs for reliable VO2Max measurement and a fieldable, canine cardiorespiratory fitness protocol. Prototype canine masks and vests will be integrated with technology allowing end users to conduct MWD or MPC fitness evaluations under controlled or operational conditions at duty sites or deployed locations using a standardized and validated canine cardiorespiratory fitness protocol. The technology will have research and other use applications across a variety of working dog programs and agencies.
