Army aircrews routinely face challenging flight conditions in a rapidly evolving weather environment during missions often carried out in remote locations with limited environmental data or support. EarthCast Technologies is proposing to customize operational technologies that currently provide enhanced weather situational awareness in the cockpit of commercial aircraft, in order to provide rapid transition toward a solution of providing graphical weather information in the cockpit of tactical aircraft and Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems. The Common Tactical Environmental Picture⢠(C-TEP) solution can provide reliable, accurate, low-cost, high-resolution environmental intelligence to both the cockpit and to ATC systems, producing a shared understanding of environmental conditions impacting the battlespace. Recent advances in real-time operational space-based global observing systems, data assimilation techniques, numerical weather prediction technologies, and high-performance computing make it possible for EarthCast Technologies to monitor and predict highly detailed environmental conditions for any location on Earth. That information is displayed as easily understood graphics that can be specifically designed to enable the warfighter to make informed decisions across the spectrum of mission activities - from planning, to command, control, and in-flight execution, providing unmatched global environmental situational awareness while reducing demands on pilots and ATC operators
