The purpose of this Phase-I is to develop a metamaterial-based array aperture for Electronic Warfare (EW) applications. The metamaterial array is designed to perform electronic beam steering as well as transmit and receive signals from 18-40 GHz. In this project, Acree Technologies has teamed with the University of California, Davis to demonstrate a novel solution for achieving a lightweight, wide-band, high effective radiated power (ERP), beam-steering aperture using a unique tunable and conformal metamaterial design that will be fabricated using advanced thin film processing and laser patterning.
