Supersensor is non-intrusive long-range (>1 m) trans-metal explosive-specific landmine sensor operating as both primary and/or confirmation detector, with expected pd>95% and far<0.1%. it deciphers on-line the empirical chemical formulas (stoichiometry) of buried anomalies. a vehicle borne supersensor has potential to sweep a 3 meter wide lane at 8 km/h. It uses tagged fast neutron induced high resolution gamma spectroscopy with multi-channel nanosecond pulse electronics. laboratory measurements with asimplifiedsystem in phase 1 will determine pd and far and time required to decipher chemical formula as a function of mass of explosive, distance and depth. SuperSensor as a product will be marketable in a number of commercial arenas, which include (i) remote detection through steel pipes of impurities in crude oil, coal, and natural gas that are currently require invasive sampling, (ii) diagnostics, QC and warning signal in chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industrial processing (iii) impurities and ?rfingerprinting?_ of diamonds and other gemstones. Immediate marketing of SuperSensor is expected in governmental areas, Including (i) airport security; (ii) border patrol / customs control drug and contraband detection; (iii) enforced protection (?øbomb squads?ñ); (iv) unexploded ordinance clearance (v) biological and chemical weapons detection and (vi) particularly landmine clearance. HiEnergy Microdevices Inc. has organized a consortium of European companies that submitted a 2 million euros proposal to European Union to build and market SuperSensor for de-mining in Bosnia.

SuperSensor is a non-instrusive long-range trans-metal stoichiometric AT landmine confirmation/primary detector that deciphers online the empirical chemical formulas of buried anomalies and displays on the screen of a handheld monitor, in less than 60 seconds, "This is explosive" or "Not a known explosive". Its expected Pd>95% and FAR <0.1%. A vehicle borne Supersensor has potential to sweep a 3 meter wide land at 8Km/h. Both vehicle mounted and portable handheld modes are proposed. It is based on "tagged" fast neutron induced solid state prompt gamma spectroscopy with multi channel pulse electronics.
