New computer based process will be designed that will filter and fusedata from past experience and a wide range of disparate input sourcesto provide the best decision to human operators or military commanders. The process takes as input the description and content of data to be used in the decision and the logical and mathematical processes to be applied, and provides a continuous update of the recommended courseof action. The process is categorized as a middleware interface; it will support visual decision aids. It is permits the application in combination of techniques such as artificial intelligence, neural networks, fuzzy logic, and probability estimators to assess the usefulness of all decision relevant data. The best recommendation is then made based upon the decision-maker's assessment criteria. The process is robust, allows for consideration of missing data. The process is based upon mathematically precise operations on data.
Benefits: Benefits which will accrue to the users of the processes developed from this research are decisions based on quantitatively qualified data sets. Better data means better decisions. Commercially these abilities to make better decisions will impact most, if not all, areas of Corporationorate life, finance, operations, staffing, new product introduction, etc.
