This Small Business Innovation Research Phase I project presents an application of Damaskos, Inc.'s trade marked ThinShield microstructure-engineered material to the problem of low frequency shielding of the magnetic fields emanating from the barrel of an electric gun. The project objective is to demonstrate the shielding effectiveness of a Thin-Shield material on a small scale test model with laboratory measurements. The material design will be applied to the scale model by electrodesposition. The analysis will address the further application of these materials to power utility buss room shielding. It is anticipated that optimization of the material design from the perspective of weight, cost and expected performance will lead to a large scale implementation for the gun and power utility application
