This Small Business Innovative Research Phase I project is directed to increasing the visible light response of photocatalytic oxidative destruction of organic materials by replacing titanium dioxide, the common photoconductor used in this process, with gallium indium nitride. Success in achieving greater sensitivity to visible light will substantially improve the economics of using sunlight to destroy chemical warfare agents and other material interest to the Army.
