UCE will integrate a low cost 64 x 240 pixel lcd with interface touch pads and computer variable program display using conventional, proven available technology. the touch panel will be resistive. The location technique will be analog. this will take away some brightness but is a proven reliable technique whose brightness is usable and improved upon by placing the resistive layer at different levels in the sandwich cross section. The initial product will be non-U.S. semiconductor LCD Drivers, these will be replaced with a U.S. manufactured driver system from a MIL-STD 883 line within 12-18 months (HUGHES).
