Lauren Manufacturing Company would like to develop a modified fluoroelastomer technology to protect laminated fiberglass reinforces structures from chemical agents and decontaminants. Flame retardency, adhesion, abrasion resistance, low weight/area characteristics would be improved. Chloro-trifluoroethylene shows more promising results than conventional fluoroelastomers. Lauren proposes to formulate and evaluate the candidate systems for army. Frp samples will be prepared and would be tested at both army and lauren research labs.
