Team AVATAR proposes integrating SR4MSA and ALIGN into MARNE to produce the Maintenance Augmented Reality for Nondestructive Evaluation Spatial Registration (M/X/ARNE SR), a multi-sensor platform proven capable of the following: Tracking tools, probes, etc. via motion capture balls or similar reference features that can be mechanically added to tools without adding bulk or decreasing usability Better than 0.5 mm x, y, z accuracy has already been achieved in open spaces Better than 3° orientation accuracy has already been achieved in open spaces Recognizing the 3D environment of the sensor system and aligning the internal and a user-configured coordinate system (I.e. a master CAD file for the component being tested) Supporting plug-and-play integration with AVATAR’s portfolio of data collection systems and XR experiences to provide seamless spatial tracking of any relevant tool/part in XR Integration with an XR display system and software modules that provides readily exportable data and a 3D, immersive, heads-up-display of the entire inspection process in near real-time.
