The Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2AD) strategies by adversaries have created a need for an affordable mass with long-range and high-speed precision guided missile that can penetrate denied environments. This missile should integrate with Air Force’s strike platforms, be affordable in numbers and have speed/range to penetrate defenses. Scramjet propulsion is critical enabler with extended range and reduced time to target provided. Current scramjets are large, and with limited strike platform integration. Current engines are large and expensive. Innoveering’s scramjets are shorter for integration on many smaller platforms. Innoveering is developing Additive Manufacturing methods to fabricate their engines affordability, increase producibility and reduce weight. Innoveering has wide experience from our founder’s from legacy hypersonics programs. Innoveering can rapidly transition innovative technology to demonstration. Innoveering’s smaller, precision-controlled scramjet engine would be enabling for an affordable mass precision guided munition. Innoveering provides affordable and smaller liquid fueled scramjet systems with precision engine controls, advanced manufacturing and innovative combustor technologies. Our control system allows a smaller isolator, lower takeover Mach number and high maneuverability without unstart. Innoveering’s current engine designs permit the use of less exotic materials in the engine construction and Innoveering is pioneering additive manufacturing for scramjet fabrication for faster build times and reduced fabrication costs. We have extensive in-house ground test capability and experience to advance technologies. Innoveering has experience for engineering analysis of boosters for a space constrained system configuration or SRM propellants. The objective of this effort is advancing the current TRL4/5, cooled S1X3000 engineering development scramjet engine into a test article ready for TRL6 Freejet testing. Innoveering can leverage existing scramjet development experience and Innoveering IRAD to provide a fully representative compact scramjet engine design for test in a 12mo period of performance. The award of this Weapons Pitch Day Phase II will accelerate the development of the objective, fieldable scramjet engine to TRL6. Innoveering has the ongoing work and background to support this rapid advancement of technology. To meet program objectives, Innoveering will leverage information from current engine development to provide scramjet design for testing in a freejet test cell. A booster study will inform the use of the most effective booster rocket motor for acceleration to takeover speed. We will leverage decades of proven experience in (1) air-breathing propulsion/vehicle integration; (2) thermo-mechanical design of scramjets into missile; (3) solid fuel formulations; (4) rapid prototyping of ground and flight test hardware; and (5) test and evaluation of advanced propulsion aero-vehicle systems.
