The 28th Bomb SquadronÂ’s Interim First Sergeant has submitted a problem definition and conceptual solution to the Spark Tank competition. She has identified a challenge with effective tracking and efficient monitoring of personnel across the base. While there are personnel tracking solutions commercially available, such as police ankle monitoring systems, there are no identified solutions which allow for ease of use, secure but functional wearables, integration into a Team Awareness Kit (TAK) user interface, and allow for easily defined rules and alert functions associated with personnel movement across the base. She specifically identified Airmen under base or quarters confinement; visiting civilians, and on base contractors as mission functions which require significant manpower and direct oversight/escort. Ubihere is proposing the adaptation of its commercial real time tracking products to meet the specific needs of this defined Air Force challenge. Ubihere has commercialized an indoor/outdoor low-cost artificially intelligent asset and equipment tracking solution referred to as Ubitrax. This solution allows customers to accurately track high-priority inventory across facilities and inside buildings with little additional infrastructure modifications required. The Air Force has requested that this commercial solution be modified to support a low-cost large-scale easy-to-use solution which enables real-time tracking of personnel across any Air Force Base. The Air Force end-user has identified tracking of visitors, dignitaries, and Airmen under base confinement as the primary applications of the solution. They have indicated secondary applications in recreational activities, security access, contractor management and other uses as they are identified. Under this Phase I effort, Ubihere will work with the identified Air Force end-user and customer to refine the requirements of the taget solution and design, develop, and deliver five (5) alpha prototypes for testing. Additionally, Ubihere will engage with other identified and interested Air Force end users to establish a cohort of end-users/customers supportive of a Phase II MOU and Phase III transition program.
