This is an innovative filter technology which fills a useful niche between two well-established incumbent technologies. It provides 50x-100x size/weight improvement, as well as improved loss and performance. This Phase I proposal would further advance this integrated waveguide technology another level by constructing ultra-low-loss integrated waveguide interconnects to interface with the high-performance filters. This creates a novel implementation of filter diplexers (and ultimately multiplexers) for significant size, weight, and cost reductions in military sensor subsystems.
