The Air Force is a highly complex organization with many different functions like logistics, quality control, auditing, finance/budgeting, compliance and human resources. The organization must ensure mission-readiness to protect the United States and warfighters. The commercial sector shares many of the functions of the Air Force.Commercial technological solutions can help the Air Force improve processes, gather better quality data to improve performance and ensure better information flows by sharing information among the different key stakeholders. Innovative technologies used incrementally can provide greater efficiencies across multiple platforms.14bis Supply Tracking will conduct a feasibility study for the incremental use of blockchain technology leveraged as an interoperability layer to track digital assets. It will develop an interoperability integration with an existing mission system to include key performance metrics using the 14bis Universal Connector product.Air Force data metrics, including cost data and performance metrics will be used to ensure standardized data.Leveraging the immutable record feature of the 14bis system, full chain of custody of data is ensured, improving data and analysis quality.Digital documents or messages, such as command messages, can be tracked using the 14bis Supply Tracking system. It provides systems interoperability, full digital asset traceability and maximum security.Mission Systems,Weapon Systems, digitization,Interoperability,Tracking, transparency, blockchain,Security

Currently, the Air Force (AF) is not connecting crucial data from different sources, which means that key data is left behind. To improve decision-making, the AF needs access and end-to-end visibility of all key data. One end user, AFLCMC/ACSs Support Equipment & Vehicles (SE&V), manages all AF support equipment & vehicles worldwide. For SE&V, 14bis Supply Tracking will develop a working prototype and all documentation of a solution providing end-to-end visibility with systems interoperability and data analytics with actionable triggers. The result will help the AF better manage the common support equipment fleet. The proposed system will provide more accurate information about the location and health of each piece of support equipment, allowing for data-driven buy/repair decisions. While actual use of the trial (& fielded system, if successful & leads to Phase III) is limited to SE&V, the Impact will be felt throughout the USAF: it will allow better common support equipment fleet management. The proposed system will provide more accurate information about the location & health of each piece of support equipment, allowing it to make data-driven buy/repair decisions.Future implementations will provide systems interoperability, full digital asset traceability, maximum security and extend 14bis offer to include data analytics.
