Adranos has developed the capability to extend the range and payload capacity of hypersonic weapons and increase the payload capacity of space launch systems through its high-performance solid rocket propellant called ALITEC. This capability can give the US a critical competitive advantage through range overmatch with hypersonics and through a lower cost per kilogram launched in a space launch vehicle. ALITEC also eliminates the corrosive hydrochloric acid common to solid platforms, which reduces corrosion and negative environmental impacts. The purpose of this effort is to identify the specific users and entry platforms for which ALITEC can have the greatest impact. While ALITEC could be used in numerous platforms, increased performance and elimination of HCl could be more valuable to certain platforms and users than others.

Phase II

Start Date: 11/5/2019    Completed: 11/5/2020
Phase II year
2020
