Photon-X proposes to apply the Company's patented and proven Spatial Phase Imaging (SPI) technology to numerous Focus Areas and User needs outlined in SBIR AF192-001: Open Call for Innovative Defense-Related Dual-Purpose Technologies/Solutions with a Clear Air Force Stakeholder Need. Our multi-patented passive optical sensors are based on Spatial Phase Imaging physics and will be a Defense-Related Dual-Purpose Technology that can integrated across multiple Focus Areas and User Needs. SPI sensors capture real-time full motion 3D surfaces with a single lens and without point clouds. SPI sensors are high-res, have numerous associated analytical algorithms, and work in cluttered environments. The system is proven to find, identify, and track objects both near and far. SPI technology has applications for IoT, autonomy, robotics, and AI. Photon-X's SPI captures the world's surfaces in real-time which allows for unique identifications, tracking, and targeting. The benefits of the Photon-X SPI system are numerous, as the system is: (1) 3D without point clouds (2) high-resolution, (3) accurate, (4) adaptable, (5) proven, (6) low energy, and (7) real-time. Spatial Phase Imaging system provides undetectable asymmetric maintenance, human systems, defensive, and offensive capabilities. The proposed Photon-X system has nearly unlimited commercial applications including autonomous vehicles.

Photon-X proposes testing a small UAS-mounted, passive, high-resolution 3D sensor to find and identify multiple types of objects at various distances and in differing environments. The Photon-X dataset can then be utilized by the AF to compare the Photon-X datasets clarity, quality, and distances with existing sensor datasets such as LIDAR and Radar. Photon-X's Spatial Phase Imaging (SPI) is a new generation of passive sensors and analytics. As SPI sensors capture 3D surfaces at the pixel level, the benefits of utilizing Photon-X's technology for passive ISR are: (1) SPI is passive, (2) SPI is high-resolution, (3) SPI is highly scalable, and (4) SPI is portable with a low SWaP. The proposed UAS mounted sensor solution builds on Photon-X's experiences in finding, tracking, and identifying dynamic objects as well as experiences in 3D biometrics, surface mapping, autonomy, robotics, NDI, and 3D gaming. Photon-X is beginning the commercializing process of the SPI industrial autonomy, robotics, and NDI applications that emanate from this project via a new company. Additionally, the SPI sensor design required for this project is also being commercialized by Photon-X related company, VyzAI, for use in consumer cell phones, which are anticipated to launch in Q2 of 2020.
