XCraft, Inc. along with its team partner Clear Carbon and Components, Inc propose to develop and produce an innovative, durable, roll-out runway with ultra-lightweight polymer composite construction for expeditionary airfield surfacing. Impetus for this novel matting technology comes from the Air Forces need for improved mechanical performance and reparability, and reduced weight over current Vietnam era AM-2 legacy matting.XCraft proposes to build-upon its highly successful 14ft x 60ft roll-out WavTrac expeditionary matting technology which surpassed USACE and Marcor testing requirements by 2X, investigating several alternative coil-able design candidates in Phase I which utilize WavTrac as a base layer.The self-deploying mat made-up of a convoluted grid of peaks and valleys, offers the unique ability to interlock with the sub-terrain, mitigating soil deformation.XCraft will develop several innovative matting technology candidates utilizing polymer composite construction.Composite materials offer enormous flexibility in constituency, allowing precise tailoring to mechanical, physical, and chemical performance requirements.Pultrusion and molding will be employed to manufacture matting at anomalously high through-put and low cost.XCraft and Clear Carbon have significant experience in developing novel composite materials for use in harsh military environments and are currently in RFQ with Marcor for WavTrac Phase 3.WAVTRAC,expeditionary matting,runway matting,Soil Stabilization,Composite Matting,Shoreline Roadways,coilable mat,roll-out mat.
