Qynergy Corporation proposes to develop a unique power system for space targets for RADAR calibration and test of advanced discrimination technologies and concepts. There is a need for well-characterized cooperative space targets that can decrease reliance on expensive BMDS integrated flight tests. The space target system would consist of at least 2 objects: a cone of approximately 1-m diameter, 2-m length, and an approximately 1-m diameter sphere. The overall goals of such a Microsatellite Target System (MTS) would be to build microsatellites in threat representative configurations flying in orbit that simulate threat trajectories that would transmit data to researchers on the ground. We propose the development of an alternative power source that can be tailored for the necessary life of the mission. The power cell will utilize Qynergy's cutting edge, long-lasting QynCellTM technology for delivering continuous power to the space target system or critical subsystem(s). The QynCellTM is a revolutionary solid-state electrical energy device that operates without recharging, refueling, or maintenance.
