The objective of this research task is to complete development of our Phase I prototype and have a resulting Enhanced Intelligent Data & Information System that is secure and expandable complete with flexible auditing and authentication capabilities, while remaining easy to use, access and configure. Situational Awareness for Network Centric Warfare requires the ability to both access raw and exploited data and be able to transform that data into information. Currently, battlefield intelligence data is provided by a vast array of real-time sensors (GMTI, ELINT, TRAP/TRE), archival databases (MIDB and AODB), finished intelligence products, imagery and exploited HUMINT, COMINT and UAV. These systems all provide their information in various formats such as streamed text, USMTF messages, XML, PDF, HTML, Word documents and relational database metadata. Our final product will access the system with a single JAVA API and supplemental Web based API, which utilize both JAVA RMI and Web Services. In addition, this system will provide a Source Access toolkit which will allow system developers the ability to create their own source access components for proprietary sources having unique APIs. The Source Access toolkit will set this system apart from others of a similar genre
