We at Sigma-K Corporation will develop an angular valve displacement measurement system that will meet the Phase II measurement specification requirements during the course of the Phase I Work Plan. These specifications will include the following (1)measurement of the angular displacement of a butterfly type valve that has an angular displacement of 90 degrees to an accuracy of 0.01%. (2) Update the angular measurement at 100 Hz and provide a response time of less than 0.01 seconds. (3) The system will use COTS components that can withstand the upper range (140 degrees F) of the temperature requirements. The lower temperature extreme requirement (-10 degrees F) will be met by providing a heater for the enclosed sensor system. Two geometric configuration measurement methods will be investigated during the Phase I Work Plan.
