ZC&H Dynamic Systems, Inc. proposes the development of algorithms for real-time kinematic GPS-based guidance of tactical munitions. These algorithms rest on the wide-lane approach and the continuous carrier smoothing approach developed by Mr. Ron Hatch will act as principal scientist on this project. Both of these methods are feasible even when there is no direct link from a differential base station to the munition receiver. The wide-lane method has been shown to provide relative accuracy in the centimeter range, while the continuous carrier method can provide similar accuracies as a back-up algorithm. Both of these algorithms are effective over wide baselines. The inertial measurement unit will be used to provide receiver aiding to maintain lock under high dynamics while keeping the tracking bandwidths narrow. A simulation will be developed and will include pseudocode to provide a basis for real-time implementation of the algorithms.
