Phase I

Contract Number: ----------
Start Date: ----    Completed: ----
Phase I year
1992
Phase I Amount
$50,000
The principal technical objective of this proposed SBIR Phase I study will be to examine flight control sensor and actuator interface requirements and determine applicability of dsp technologies towards creating common I/O modules to replace the various interfaces. A small, light weight, high capability, adaptable common inputs/output interface (CIOI) will be conceptually designed, its feasibility established and its implementation planned. By appropriate programming and possible other adjustments, this CIOI is to replace the various interfaces presently associated with aircraft flight control and vehicle management systems. The principal CIOI module is an intelligent measurement and control device which achieves adaptability to various interface requirements by use of programmable analog/digital interface circuits, programmable digital arrays and a programmable digital signal processor (DSP). The expected size of the compact CIOI board is only 3"x3.75"X1", including power supplies. A Phase I final report will define in detail results of the study.
