In Phase I we have determined the feasibility, made experimental design, and demonstrated the physics of a device for capturing dynamic bleaching effects of single shot picosecond laser pulse without using a streak camera. We have determined that such a device can indeed be constructed with existing simple optical components and detector array. In Phase II, we shall improve the laser source, and add another electro-optic shutter for substantial reduction of background leakage for better detection. Pulse shape measurements will be demonstrated, and the numerical modeling, data analysis, and development of the computer code for deconvelotion of the pulse shape will be carried out. Further improvement of temporal resolution, and pulse asymmetry study will also be carried out.
