Public Profile

Machine Vision International develops products based on the technology of mathematical morphology that could be used for measurement, inspection, and control in manufacturing processes. In the fall of 1982, Richard P. Eidswick joined with Dr. Sternberg to develop strategy to bring this technology to market. To fund the company, nearly $9.5 million of equity capital was raised, in 1981, through private offerings of MVI securities. As of November 5, 1985, MVI was a public company, with its shares traded in the over-the-counter market. However in 1984, net sales were $4,011,730 and their net losses were $3,178,903. And in the first six months of 1985, their statement of operations read: net sales $4,481,476 and net losses $1,367,845. The most common applications of vision systems on the market in 1985, required the use of only one of the technologies available, while others required multiple technologies. MVI was unique in the employment of all four technologies
