The acquired firm - also dba KBSI - is a dynamic engineering and systems analysis, consulting, and systems/software development company. The firm has diverse expertise in the areas of mechanical, industrial, electrical, aeronautical and manufacturing engineering, as well as cyber security, computer science, management science, and artificial intelligence. Most of KBSIs success has been in the integration of human knowledge expertise with automated machine learning and data/text mining to provide an effective custom solution to a wide spectrum of problems such as inventory management (cash, blood, parts, etc.), threat assessment (anti-terrorism), etc. The firms other successful areas of work include architectural frameworks and systems methodologies; cost modeling, predictive and optimization systems, supply chain and logistics. The firm is focused on its JACKALFISH technology, which provides web-based ontology-assisted text mining from key words, extracted phrases, or whole paragraphs.
