Originally located in Camden, NJ, - a spinout of Drexel University - Drakontas later re-located headquarters to Blue Bell PA. The firm's early work organized around support of soldiers serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. Principals of the firm soon saw applications for developed technologies in the public safety space - first responders - here at home. The firm shifted focus to include equipping these personnel with the best communications and collaboration technology with the focus on improving the operational effectiveness of public safety professionals by delivering software to help manage resources, business processes and emergency response capabilities. Drakontas LLC now provides collaboration tools and products for law enforcement, criminal justice, infrastructure protection, transportation, and military communities through its software and services platform. The firm's personnel also manages R&D, provide training programs, and build custom software and communications solutions for government and business customers. Dragon Force is a team collaboration tool combining real time tracking, white boarding, shared media, text messaging, and tactical planning for Web and mobile communication devices, as well as provides situation awareness information to commanders and field deployed team members; and technology research and development, and training and capacity building programs. Aso provided is Smyle, an application for Android phones and Web browsers that allows users to form social collaboration groups to chat, view one another's location on maps, and collaborate through shared photos, images, and maps; and LABFx, a Web-based forensics information exchange platform that facilitates real time collaboration and enhances workflow across the criminal justice system.
