In February 2021 it was announced that Deployable Space Systems (DSS) had been acquired by Redwire. With terms of the deal not disclosed, Redwire was itself formed only in 2020 as a portfolio company of the private equity firm AE Industrial Partners. DSS is the seventh acquisition by Redwire to date (Spring 2021).
