The primary objective of this effort is to develop a framework for providing enhanced space situational awareness (SSA) through the ability to project and visualize threats to blue space assets, and assess the impact of those threats to the assets and the missions they support. The Assessing and Projecting Situations In Space (APSIS) framework leverages a domain agnostic TRL 6 capability for reducing multi-INT data to perform situation identification and threat assessment. APSIS extends this framework by developing models for projecting states and threats within the space domain. The principal benefit of APSIS is the ability to predict threats left of the event, which allows for proactive mitigation strategies for protecting vital space assets. A proof-of-concept prototype for APSIS will be developed during Phase I, including space domain state and threat projection plug-ins, as well as input managers for ingesting multi-INT SSA data. Research into enhancing APSIS core capabilities through the inclusion of a probabilistic rule engine to augment the space domain context models will also be performed. Lastly, a highly customizable web-based user interface will be developed to allow end users the ability to visualize APSIS results, as well as forensically analyze the evidentiary data leading to the results.
