Woodinville, WA- 6 February 2012
-- WESMAR, today announced a partnership with Azimut Yachts to supply roll fin
stabilizers on their elegant line of Magellano 50, long range cruisers.
The agreement between WESMAR's Italian dealer, Hydro Sy
stems, and luxury yacht builder Azimut is to supply
WESMAR's digital gyro Model DS4800 roll fin stabilizer syst
ems for Azimut's elegant line of Magellano 50, long range
cruising yachts.
Azimut Yachts serves its customers at over 130 sites worldw
ide with representative offices, boatyards, service points and
delivery centers located in Europe, North America and
Asia. Executive Offices are in Avigliana-Turin, Italy.
WESMAR with nearly five decades of marine design a
nd manufacturing provides widely respected commercial grade
equipment to commercial, private, and government operations
around the world. Its network of customer support includes
over 350 trained service personnel, dealers and distributors. To
them, plus the thousands of
boat owners and operators
around the world, The WESMAR brand means reliable, rugged,
commercial grade bow and stern thrusters; high-powered
trip axis gyro driven roll fin stabilizer systems,
custom hydraulics and advanced sonar systems.
WESMAR's DSP4800 technology changes the dynamics of how ro
ll fin stabilizers react to vessel roll. Using advanced
software techniques constantly sampling,
the multi access gyro memorizes the vessel's roll characteristics in order to react
instantaneously, predicting and then preempting vessel roll.
The system displays a real time presentation of the fin pos
ition and the actual roll rate of the vessel. For high speed
vessels, an optional lift function positions the fins to lift th
e hull and lower drag. A GPS interface permits display of the
overall improvement in speed; and an At Anchor model m
onitors incoming swells and automatically controls fin
movement to reduce the roll.
A small controller replaces a larger control box and can run
dual monitors and dual control
pads, giving remote and full
navigator capabilities both in the wheelhouse and the fly bridge
. A digital link to the driver board makes the DSP4800
immune to RF interference, often a
nuisance with marine electronics.
