NanoFacture is a producer of nano-engineered device platforms for rapid, versatile, and affordable diagnostics. Their current research and development efforts are focused on three key sectors: Sample Preparation, Target Enrichment and Storage and Detection Assays. NANOFACTURE DRS proprietary technology concentrates and purifies DNA samples upon the surface of a low‐cost nano‐/micro tip, which is housed in a disposable cartridge using a combination of chemical affinity and capillary action. The capillary and viscous forces, during the withdrawal of the tip from the sample solution, are controlled to remove particles greater than the calibrated tip width. This process is therefore automatically purifying DNA out of sample mixtures, without traditional filtration techniques that accompany washing and centrifugation. Additionally, the proprietary tip materials can quickly dry out the surface, enabling long‐term storage.
