With ties to University of Maryland, SD Nanosciences (SDN) is a privately held company developing proprietary products resulting from intellectual property of the scientific founders, Dr. Daniel C. Stein and Dr. Philip DeShong, faculty in the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics, and the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, respectively, at the University of Maryland. The company has focused its research efforts on breakthroughs in nanotechnology to develop biotechnological applications for, vaccine formulation, targeted drug delivery, and diagnostics. The company is currently housed in the Technology Advancement Building on the campus of the University of Maryland, College Park.
