Spectral Sensor Solutions (S3) is organized around development of electro-optical systems for standoff sensing of chemical and biological hazards and for environmental remote sensing. S3 provides analysis, trade studies, design, engineering, development, proof-of-concept and demonstrations based on its two core technologies: UV Raman detection & identification and IR eye-safe aerosol lidar. The firm's standoff sensor systems support detection and identification of CBRNE threats, as well as environmental monitoring. The initial emphasis of the company is on providing solutions to two major detection challenges using two different active sensor platforms: 1) long-range sensing of chemical and biological threats released in the air with light detection and ranging (lidar) technology; and 2) proximity sensing of chemical and explosive threats on surfaces with UV Raman technology.
