Nokia A.B., the Finnish telecommunications equipment maker, said yesterday that it had acquired the Rooftop Communications Corporation for $57 million in a move to strengthen its capabilities in Internet protocol technology. Rooftop Communications, based in Mountain View, Calif., produces radio systems that enable high-speed wireless access to the Internet. The company employs 20 people. Nokia said the acquisition would give it additional holdings in wireless Internet access, especially in wireless Internet protocol routers.
