Orlando's Autonomous Technologies Corp. has cleared a significant hurdle in its quest to sell laser-based vision correction instruments. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration accepted the company's application for pre-market approval and has determined that the laser products are developed enough for a complete review. Autonomous Technologies Chairman Randy Frey called the FDA action the company's "most critical milestone for 1997."
