Autonomous Technologies Corp. said today it received U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for its laser vision-correction system for the treatment of mild-to-moderate nearsightedness. The company plans to offer the system, called LADARVision, on a per-procedure service fee basis. Autonomous, based in Orlando, recently agreed to be purchased by Summit Technology Inc. of Waltham, Mass., for cash and stock valued at about $86.6 million.
