Public Profile

Until 2004, dba Semzyme Inc., anchored in the work of the Founders - at MIT and prevously University of Texas - Cambrios’ technology and IP portfolio addresses the discovery of proteins that bind important inorganic materials, the use of those biomolecules to assemble nanostructures made of these materials, and the applications of these methods in processes for the construction of solid-state electronic devices. Using nanotechnology, Cambrios is in the development of proprietary, competitive products for consumer electronics markets Developing electronic materials such as wet-processable transparent conductive films for the display industry, Cambrios is employing silver nanowire solutions to enable the development of electronic devices with transparent conductors. The firm's proprietary nanostructured materials can be deposited using existing production equipment to achieve enhanced performance of display devices and components at lower manufacturing cost. ClearOhm™ -- the firm's first product -- is a directly patternable, wet-processable transparent conductive film made from silver nanowires that is poised to replace the industry standard sputtered indium tin oxide (ITO). ClearOhm® product is the transparent conductor providing significant optical advantages and electrical performance beyond traditional materials and methods. Subsequent products will leverage this technology to produce other functional films for display and thin film applications for multiple consumer electronic device markets.
