In 2008 Policell technology and manufacturing rights for a new generation of safe, large-format prismatic lithium-ion batteries based on a new bondable nano-composite separator technology was acquired by Planar Energy Devices, Inc. Policell Technologies Inc. was operated in a single industry using two segments. These two segments were a) services or technology solutions including contract research, consulting service, testing and evaluation of batteries, technical service and support, and technology licensing; b) products which include specialty batteries with any sizes or any shapes, battery packs, proprietary separator membranes, and electrolyte solvents.
