Public Profile

In February 2010, NovaWave Technologies was acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific. NovaWave Technologies (NWT) develops optically-based chemical detection instrumentation for military and civilian markets, including homeland defense, environmental monitoring, metrology, and basic and applied research. Additionally, NWT is developing novel microfluidic systems for biomedical applications in clinical diagnostics and biological agent detection. NovaWave Technologies core competencies comprise optical spectroscopies, laser physics, chemical detection, and microfluidics. NWT Personnel have pioneered numerous developments in absorption and fluorescence spectroscopies, non-linear spectroscopies, and optical scattering methods. NWT founders have played key roles in the development of cavity-based optical absorption methods, including cavity ringdown spectroscopy, integrated cavity output spectroscopy, and ringdown spectral photography. NWT personnel have also pioneered significant developments in microparticle photophysics, exploiting unique fluorescence and scattering phenomena of microparticles. NWT is focused on bringing new technologies to the marketplace to address the needs of civilian as well as military end-users. * Optical Technologies * Microfluidics * Collaborators
