LuxVue Technology Corp. remains stealthily working on its LED-screen technology despite being backed by high-profile investors like Bill Joy and raising another $25 million.

The Santa Clara company led by Andreas Bibi has now raised nearly $44 million in three rounds since it was founded in 2009. It raised $11 million in a Series B round in July.

Patent applications on file with U.S. patent authorities indicate LuxVue appears to be working on next-generation, low-power, microLED-based displays for consumer electronics.

Bibi was previously head of Dimatix, Sportbrain and Raster Graphics, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The company formerly operated out of Los Altos and it was originally known as Papierlos Corp.

In addition to Sun Microsystems co-founder Joy, another Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers partner on LuxVue's board is Wen Hsieh.

Ronald Chwang, chairman of iD Ventures, is also a board member.

Chief Financial Officer Sam Hedgepeth's phone number is listed on this week's regulatory filing but he has not responded to a Business Journal call for more information.
