In February 2011, the firm was acquired by Intelligent Mechatronic Systems and now does business as Urban Informatics Corporation. Originally located in CA doing business as TTech, in 2004 the firm merged with IntelliOne Technologies Corporation. Urban Informatics monitors traffic in real time using network data from the wireless mobile phone network. Using anonymous data from a mobile phone network, the Urban Informatics System turns routine network signaling data from mobile phones into real-time roadway speeds and accurate traffic information.This early application also featured dynamic driving directions routing drivers around incidents in real-time to their destinations. The Company also invested in the development of TrafficAid(tm) using best-of-breed voice and Web technologies in preparation for mass-market delivery of its road speed data. The software agents and routing engine first demonstrated in 1997 remain key components of the IntelliOne solution.
