MTPV makes semiconductor chips that convert heat directly into electricity. Much like a solar panel will convert sunlight into electricity, MTPV solutions are able to convert any source of heat into electricity with several significant advantages when compared to other chip based solutions. MTPV chips are able to generate 10x to 50x more power, with 45% less heat/temperature than competitive technologies and are capable of generating 1-50 watts/cm² at efficiencies between 10%-60%. MTPV solutions are solid-state, scalable, and create 100% green energy when converting waste heat to electricity.

These advantages open the door for chip based solutions that were previously un-obtainable. Our technology has been developed over the past 15 years beginning at MIT and Draper Laboratory and for the last 6 years in the labs of MTPV. During these efforts over $20M has been invested in research and development and 5 patents have been awarded with 7 pending award. MTPV is a solid-state scalable technology, which allows us to make power plants that can fit in to the palm of your hand or large arrays of chips for more industrial uses.
