The launch of the European program Ariane caused the separation of industrial activities in a new entity, the Société Européenne de Propulsion. Military activities remained under the responsibility of LRBA. MS was then incorporated in 1997 the company Snecma , previously its largest shareholder with the French government, in the form of a division ("SEP Division SNECMA"). During the transformation of the company Snecma holding, ctivities were then distributed to companies Snecma Moteurs (small and large liquid propulsion and satellite equipment) and Snecma Propulsion Solide (solid rocket motors, composite materials). During the merger of Snecma and Sagem , Snecma Moteurs has taken its name from Snecma. The Villaroche was closed in 2006. Activities mechanisms for satellites were transferred to the company Contraves AG . Satellite propulsion activities were moved to the site of Vernon.
