The company also provides Boomerang shooter detection system, which pinpoints incoming small arms fire from the shooter; Boomerang Air helicopter-mounted shooter detection system, which helps flight crews to detect and report a shooter by using passive acoustic detection, computer-based signal processing, and auditory and visual indications; Boomerang Warrior-X, a soldier wearable shooter detection system; and Raytheon BBN Multimedia Monitoring System, which combines Raytheon BBN’s Broadcast and Web Monitoring Systems to give English speakers direct access to foreign language multimedia from a single unified desktop. In addition, it offers rapid, tactical, and engineering solutions to customers with special or unique requirements; and technology services. The company’s products are used by the U.S Navy, the U.K. Royal Air Force, the Canadian Navy, the U.S. military, Homeland Security, law-enforcement agencies, municipalities, and other government organizations, as well as business organizations. Raytheon BBN Technologies Corp. was formerly known as BBN Technologies Corp. and changed its name in October 2009. The company was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
