We checked-in this week with our latest travel grant winner, Allan Dikeman, founder of Digital Dipstick Company. He applied for the travel grant so he could drive from Peoria to Indiana and was awarded!

Founded back in 2016, Digital Dipstick Company provides farmers with in-cab oil level-reading to prevent engine damage. Their ground-breaking technology, the Digital Oil Level Indicator (DOLI), warns the operator when oil levels are too low. DOLI can also be used to read fuel, grain tank, transmission and hydraulic oil levels. Currently, farmers have to read these levels manually, but DOLI makes the process much simpler.

Allan Dikeman, founder of Digital Dipstick, presented his concept at Startup GP's 2017 Keystart pitch competition.

Digital Dipstick Company received a travel grant and was able to meet with a current investor. Little Engine Ventures became an investor of the company in 2016, and the investors have extensive experience working with all types of agricultural businesses.

During their meeting, investors offered advice on how to start and maintain an agricultural company, and shed light on which steps will be best for the company to move forward. They were able to discuss which sales strategies to use and how best to reach the target market. Some of the investors even offered to lend a hand in connecting the company to potential customers.

"This is my first rodeo," Allan said. "It was great to bounce ideas off of people who have been in the game."

We look forward to hearing more about what the outcomes of this meeting will be, and how the travel grant helped Digital Dipstick Company move forward.
