Zenwa, Inc. has been longtime focused on developing and commercialization imaging products that utilize waveguide-in-photopolymer technology. With working relationships with the University of Colorado / Boulder (CU), the Smith Kettlewell Eye Research Institute and Johns Hopkins University, principals of the firm tackled development of ophthalmologic products to include a miniature endoscopic probe that will serve as an imaging and surgical tool for micro surgery to the eye and a family of wavefront corrected contact lenses. The miniature endoscopic probe employs proprietary technology developed at CU and licensed to Zenwa has potential applications for other medical applications. The wavefront corrected contact lens employs a proprietary 3-D lithographic waveguide writing methodology that is less expensive than current waveguide corrected contact lens manufacturing techniques. Recently, a series of breakthroughs and upgrding relationship to University of Colorado Boulder has enabled creation of eyeglass lenses using extremely low-cost production equipment
